Self-Care: Cultivate It Into Your Life

08.27.2025 This morning I was thinking about what I was going to write for today's blog. Self-care ideas were flowing through my head. I took a couple of notes just before I began my morning, pool workout.
Knowing I needed to focus on my body, I did a quick mental shift and got into the pool. It was warm, the sun was beating down on my head and it was only 7 A.M. !
After about 5 minutes of lively water aerobics, I realized that I'd forgotten to bring my water outside with me. Not wanting to break my momentum, I thought, "It's okay. I'll drink some water when I finish." My next immediate thought was, "Whoa! Is that self-care?" If I saw one of my family members or a friend exercising on a hot day in the pool, without drinking water, I wouldn't think twice about taking a moment to take them some water. Why not stop and do the same for myself?
Because I'd had self-care on my mind, it was easy to identify a moment when I wasn't exercising self-care. Self-care is not limited to special segments in time. It's about being aware of any time you are NOT taking care of yourself and taking the time to do what's safe and best for you.
Safe and best for me at that time was to get out of the pool and get my drinking water. And drink it before my body needed it. Simple self-care!
Cultivate self-care into your life. It doesn't need to be big. Just know that the reward in giving and caring for yourself reflects back to you in love!
Go out and give yourself some love!
Be Joyful, My Friend!
